I hunt in Stephens County right outside of Graham, anybody hunt this area? It has seemed a little slow so far, possibly all of the fresh Acorns falling?

We hunt Stephens county also...closer to Breckenridge. Im 99.9% sure its the acorns. We were seeing tons of deer on the cams, bucks and doe. Then it pretty much shut off! We went out a couple weekends ago and walked a lot of the property and the acorns were down everywhere. We don't have many pecan trees but I have noticed here in the city they are dropping too. Still seeing the hogs of course! Plan on taking a couple of those out this weekend! I think I'm going to turn my feeders down to almost nothing...stop wasting corn.

I agree! We chalked it up to mixed weather patterns and the acorns falling like cats and dogs! We have deer on our TC's from about 9pm-3am. Our pigs are coming in like clockwork around 530 in the evening. We are heading out this weekend and if nothing else, stick some piggies and get some meat in the tree. I agree with turning the feeders down, atleast until the rut turns on! Good luck this weekend! Hopefully we will both have some pork chops in our freezer

Agreed. I don't know about your place...but we have PLENTY! And they are large and in charge! We were seeing some nice bucks prior to the acorns. Still seeing our regular doe and turkeys.

Very large and in charge! Have you seen a difference in the yearlings? I'm thinking they came a little late this year? I have only caught three fawns on Cam and they looked pretty fresh. I dont think we will ever have a shortage of Turkey or hogs! I'm hoping the big bucks show up before the pressure (rifle season) is on.Let me know how you do this weekend and your findings brotha! Good luck
