I went out and bought a spot light yesterday a few questions
1. What the reason behind red blue and orange lens?
2. IS brinkman max million 3 any good for a spotlight
3. is the 3 million max power the best out there?

Lens - Different philosophies on what color animals can see at night.
There are also different type of lights and output ability.
I'd go to TEXASBOARS and thoroughly read how they've successfully used lights before purchasing anything. Great info.

I never liked a large spotlight to find animals with. I used a smaller one that was less candlepower(100,000 to 250,000) that was lighter to hold for longer periods of time and not as hot. I have seen guys set a million candle power down on a seat to check animal with binos(while another spot was on the animal) and melt the seat. IME larger ones always burned out faster or burned wiring up in the vehicle( so I direct wired it with it own heavier outlet). I would use the bigger spotlight with white light or red lens when I found animal and wanted a shot or had a shooter.

Go get the Cyclops from Academy. Best bang for your buck. It comes with the red lens and when ya need the white light snatch the red shade off.

I've been using the Brinkmans for 40 years. I've tried many others that didn't match up .Don't be fooled by candlepower ratings only. Look for a light that can throw a reasonably tight beam if you want to be able to shoot at a distance. LED lights are starting to come on strong. I can get a handheld, battery powered LED you could shoot with at 1,000 yards. Unfortunately, they are very expensive still. I mount a smaller, less expensive one on my .458 Socom that I can use to shoot a couple of hundred yards.

Life's too short to share it with a crappy knife!

"Go get the Cyclops from Academy. Best bang for your buck. It comes with the red lens and when ya need the white light snatch the red shade off." solid advice----if your hunting varmits you will have to use the red lens to keep them from turning away from the light.
