So I found an old sleeper for cheap that I will be turning into a blind. I go pick it up this Friday. Unfortunately it may not be ready for this year but I can get started on it anyway. I'm trying to decide if I want to elevate it or just mount it to a little utility trailer. I will be leaving the insulation in it and will add a fold away bunk so I can sleep in it.
Expect progress pics when I start the build.

A lot of the deciding factor will come from how much it weighs in my opinion. When I did mine I did not have the equipment needed to elevate it due to the 900 pound weight. If you do go with trailer mounting it make site you take into account younger weight. The pros say 10-14% of the weight on the tounge if you don't have other means you can use a bathroom scale or best guess. I had the luxury of having a forklift available when mine was set on the trailer. Just some things to think of before you get too far along.

One other thing, try to think about where the door will be in relation to where your tires are if you trailer mount it. Learned that one the hard way.

I was thinkin about mounting it on a trailer frame but would like it elevated 3-4ft as well. I do have the means to lift it so that will help. Unfortunately I don't think it will be ready for this season.
Mine is from a 99 kenworth.

This is the one I'm getting tomorrow I would prefer one from a Pete because they already have a 4' door but they are hard to find high dollar.

We have a stand-up single bunk off of a Mack that we turned into a blind. We were in a rush to get it in operation so we framed and walled off the whole front, then made a full width door that hinges just under the windows. It's a pain opening the door and you have to block it open, but it gives you plenty of room to get in and out. Ours is just sitting on RR ties but we're planning on mounting it on a trailer in the future. I've killed a ton of deer and pigs out of ours-my grandson and I like to sleep in it and pig hunt. I put out a wireless driveway receiver along the trail and when it triggers, we wake up and shoot pigs.

Mine was $250 but I've seem them go over 1k for some junk. Call up some trucking companies ask for the shop supervisor.

Good start bud. Looks like mine did in the first picture. It will be cool and you will love it. If you have any questions or run into any problems just hollar it may be something I already ran across.
