If I videoed 30 deer jumping the fence you still wouldn't concede...in fact even if you saw it with your own eyes you wouldn't concede...lol
It's your nature... Hence your line of work NP.
But nothing wrong with your thinking... It's still a free country until atleast until we destroy land owner rights............then we won't have to worry about lf, hf or hunting

I would also wonder why you put up that high fence in the first place.

HF is Lame. Sucks Tx has so many money suckers out there. Real hunting is obviously outside the state in public land around the country... That's where the real hunters roam

Look, I do enjoy the debate but I know I'm not likely to persuade those who already have their minds made up. And it's not surprising I get insulted/challenged by many guys (including one whose profile link promotes "Order An Animal Off The Menu" type "hunts" where if the money goes up-"Voila!"- the size of the buck does too). I discuss this topic mainly so someone reading it might think about the issue of HF and hunting some. I picture a 15 year-old who starts to think about the HF "hunts" he has been on and tells his Dad he may want to do it a little differently this year... Crazy,I know. I have a feeling this was directed towards me.

Why does any one give evena small rat turd, other then having anger boiling around inside and the need to dictate right and wrong to others. How bought being happy Texas meddles in land owner rights as little as they do compared to other states. I will bet there are part of your non hunting life i find wrong or offensive as heck, so how bought hqving a nice big bowl of mind you own life. Its just a deer nothing more or less

Does hf stop deer no, does it deter deer yes....does it deter the majority or minority? It's an individual choice but if the acreage is large enough how many core deer does it really effect. I'm not advocating for or against HF just its not near as none fair chase when you compare variables such as size and the abilities of the game...that is all

Rockstar nothing directed towards you. Doesnt appear you need convincing and older than 15 by your own words.

B&C an P&Y have rules. Rules are made to be broken. A deer is bred for big antlers in a pen. The deer is taken out of the pen a rope around its neck and tied to a tree in a low fence pasture. The deer is shot and can now be put in the book. So much for rules. So if you break the rules rules don't matter? OK. So what does that add to anything? Not agreeing or disagreeing with Boone and Crockett rules, but keep in mind rules change Not too long ago crossbows and suppresses were illegal. Now look at where we are at My biggest peeve about Boone and crockett and pope and young is they don't give credit for antler growth in its entirety, but deduct based off differences in symmetry.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

To verify the height of the fence it is 75". That is 6' 3" for those opposed to so called HF. Axis regularly jump in and out of it. Whitetail do when they are rutting. So we get back to the original question that was asked it seems like years ago. At what heigth does a LF stop and a HF begin.

Obviously said high fence failed in its intended purpose as an impenetrable containment device. So, Height is irrelevant after it has been established that multiple deer or even a single deer is capable of and in fact did jump a high fence. Which doesn't take into account those deer that go under around and through a high fence due to natural phenomena such as tree fall, flood, wind, improper installation or criminal activity such as vandalism.

Actually it's not bad! Get to sit around and listen to the kids bicker over stuff they can't do anything about. When it gets boring I just add some fuel to the fire or go "take a nap".

I learned that if you have seen a deer jump a fence, but the fence is considered "hi" logic dictates that it is still escape proof...

Confirmed what I already knew - It's all about money!
...for both the land owner and the hunter!

They are just hoping the majority of the deer don't figure it out, or they can keep them from needing or wanting to jump out

I have kept an on going survey and have proof. More deer jump in than want to jump out. They say by over 2 to one majority that HF is safer than LF. Hf has better food. HF has a better class of deer that they would much rather be around. Documented proof that deer prefer HF 2 to 1 over LF.
