The president of our NSTRA region is trying to make room in some kennels. He has
2 pointers available. 1 is male, Bo, and was our 2010 regional champion. The other is a female, Pearl, who has turned into a good NSTRA dog. Both of these dogs are excellent bird finders and are great on wild birds. I don't know much more about either of them but PM me for more info and I'll give you Jim's contact information and he can tell you all you need to know!

A little side note! I thought everyone knew that you should never name a bird dog Bo. I rhymes with whoa. It could cause confusion with the commands.

I put in the call name to find Bo on the NSTRA website. Guess what? There were three pages of Bo. It must be the most common name on there.

Bo has found a new home. Thank you to everyone who was interested. An elderly man is going to use him to guide with. Thanks again.

Brittanys, Setters and the Pointers
I have hunted with lots and lots of different hunters over the years and have come to realize that I can predict what type, breed and temperament the hunters dog is by the vehicle he drives, how he dresses, looks and by the gun he carries.

If he shows up driving a 10 year old pick-up, shooting a model 12, wearing hunting clothes with holes in the knees and the toes worn out of his boots and carrying a couple different whistles, he will be hunting behind (long ways behind) an English pointer.

If he shows up driving a Hummer, shooting a double (side x side or a stacked up version) wearing brand name new hunting apparel and has a little bell and a silent whistle he'll be following a Setter of some sort.

If he shows up carrying a Bennelli-28 gauge, while driving a brand new vehicle pulling a newer dog trailer, wearing a hunting vest with Septembers last dove in it, doesn't carry a whistle and is looking for his glasses and hunting license then this guy will be hunting a Brittany and you better not wonder if he can shoot because he can and will prove it before the day is done. He's been through all these other breeds, vehicles and guns.

Asked one time why I train Brattiness, BECAUSE THE OWNERS CHECKS DON'T BOUNCE!

I can make 'em go! and I can make 'em whoa!
God makes 'em DO!
I carry the gun and blow the whistle.

You would be in the same boat with me.LOL
I've had about every sort of dog, gun, and vehicle there is and I don't like to walk much but still can. I have never had a dog that didn't hunt. I'm including poodles ,cockers, [censored]-yaps, all of 'em , if you'll kill birds for them they'll pick it up eventually and start pointing birds for you. That will go against some of the so called dog trainers grain but it is the truth.
Incidentally, I now have two Eng. pointers, a Brittany and a Jack Russell, so I'm not knocking other's dogs. I shoot a 1905 Parker vh 16 gauge, f&f, 30 inch barrels and have been a quail hunter for 67 years.
