Another thread got me thinking.
Guy said that they cleaned a hog that had a broadhead in it completely healed.
Only time I can think of is we cleaned a hog that had buckshot in her.
...and I bit into a store bought steak that was full of bird shot.
Anyone else had this happen?

Found broadhead in a hog before, I have also found several 224 cal bullets loged in the backstrap of deer when I hunted in the hill country.
Also I used to hunt on a property accross from a hi end residentail development in Garden ridge, the deer always had a but full of BB's from people chasing them out of their yards.

My first deer. Shot it in late Nov. of '80 in Mason Co. It had an abscess on it's right ham. While processing the deer we found a lead .22 bullet in his left ham. Apparently a road hunter shot him in butt with a rimfire .22.
Shot a hog 2 years ago that had a big nasty abscess on his neck. Looked like a rattlesnake bite. Meat and hide around the bite was rotted and nasty.

Shot a spike once that had been previously shot with a .223 or the like and not killed. High in the shoulder and we recovered the bullet in the other shoulder. You could still see the base of the bullet and the closest measurement I could get to it with my calipers would match .224.

Sort of. Walking in the dark to the pit on an Arkansas rice field to duck hunt, and the dog is running around enjoying himself. Next thing we know, he comes back with a still alive hen mallard in his mouth.

My dad shot a real nice 8pt that had been shot by a guy on our lease with a 6mm. The round hit him through the back strap above his spine. The whole front quarter of that deer was green, he was still running does though.
I killed a young spike that had a huge cut along his hip, I think it was an archery wound.

Not yet, but I hope to get that big boar that ran off with my broadhead in his shoulder last year.

I got to hunt and kill this Blackbuck for free. A paid hunter had taken a shot at this guy and shot his horn off. The ranch made him pay for the animal but the hunter didn't want to kill him now, since he was missing a horn. So the hunter paid to hunt and kill a different one. The rancher offered to let me kill him since he'd already been bought and paid for, plus none of his clientele wanted him. So after several tries, I finally located him one cold December morning. He was laying in the sun by a stock tank. I glassed him from a mile away. I moved down stream from the tank and stalked up to the dam, peeked over to see him in the same area. I ducked back down, got my rifle and came back up to make the shot. He was on the move, trotting away. I gave him a Texas Heartshot, through the butt at 275 yards. The bullet was recovered in his right front shoulder, just under the skin.

I shot a dove once that had been shot by another hunter.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

A few years back, we had a buck running around our place with an arrow stuck in his rump. Nobody ever got a shot at him, and he was seen later that year and the arrow had worked itself out.

There was an episode of I think Bone Collectors or one of the Realtree shows where T-bone shot a good buck in Mexico and it ran off. A little while later that same buck showed up at Michael Wadells stand and he shot it too. The first shot look good but apparently was not leathal, so they both shot the same buck on the same morning.

The first doe I killed was already gutted.
It had been shot and the bullet skimmed across her belly and laid her open. By the time I shot her, she didn't have any intestines in her. I'm guessing they were hanging on a fence somewhere.

Notice the hole in this guy's jaw. This was in Michigan last year, in a shotgun only zone. It was 12 guage slug. The thing smelled BAD.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Shot this buck last year (with a rifle) that had a broadhead imbedded in his sternum. Archery is not allowed on the ranch where I hunt, so it had to be from a neighboring property. I also had a game camera photo from a couple of years ago of a buck with an arrow shaft broken off high behind the shoulder. Never saw him in person, so do not know what happened to him.

Duck hunting on public land with my lab. Found many ducks that were killed, but not retrieved. Would walk around the bigger popular water bodies in the area around 9 am and she would find wounded/dead ducks all the time.

Shot a buck one year in Mason Co. The deer falls down, kicking. I get up and crawl out of the stand. Walk out to the... no deer, gone. Dad comes home about a week later. I tell him that his 8 looks like the one I shot. Start skinning him out and my 30-30 lead is just under the skin
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

The 152" 11 pt. that I shot year before last had a .277 jacket (no core)just under the skin of his right shoulder. Wasn't rotted/abcessed or anything just had a little lump on his shoulder.
Old age ain't for sissies!
