Look how smooth that cut is! That thing is close to 20' in diameter.

They had to weld two 12 ft cross cuts together to make that cut.

Those fellers look awful scrawny to have taken down that big ol' tree. People used to work their butts off to survive. Wonder what they got paid for that one?

I'm ignorant to most things flora related, but wouldn't that tree be thousands of years old...?

If you look back over your life are you fully satisfied you pleased the Maker of Creation. Are you fully assured that you have trusted in His Son, Jesus Christ, for your salvation. Are you confident that you have a definite hope of going to Heaven?

That is a Giant Sequoia. They are found just east of Fresno. It is a species of redwood, but they don't get quite as tall, but they get extremely large in circumference. The largest tree in the world (board feet) is the General Sherman tree, thought to be around 2500 years old. The tree in the picture is a monster as well, unless the two guys are vertically challenged.

What a tree. We went on a bear hunt in Forks, WA and saw some big spruce trees and hunted on top of some big cedar stumps but saw nothing over 12' dia.

Amazing... it took a lot less time to cut than it did to grow.
