http://youtu.be/LXbo8C5VHA4Anyone who has watched helicopter hog hunts see hogs blow out of cover to get away from the menacing helicopter. Watch what these educated hogs do...

Most animals will educate, or they die out. We just find it frustrating that hogs have a greater will to survive than many other animals and so they don't walk out in the open, turn broadside, and stop for us.
Maybe you could point us to some other videos, but all the ones I have seen have hogs flushed in open fields and they appear to run towards trees areas. Forests are the natural santuary for hogs, not open terrain. That they don't flush should not be a surprise.

Second group apparently not educated. It's the ones that get away that make it harder.

Cool videos!! , I think it is more the education of the lead sow, if she has been through this drill before she will be more likely to stay in the brush. More than half of those pigs are just running where the lead pig goes.

ZenArchery, so the second group is another educated group I see. So they learned 7 months ago that if you stay in the trees, the helicopter flies over you and shoots your brothers and sisters when you don't run from the trees and so this group, being educated and smarter, runs from the trees where certain death from above is known to occur.
Yep, them hogs are going to graduate school!
You are right about the different results. Not all hogs will act in the same manner and not all sounders will act in the same manner. The claim "education" would presuppose that the earlier group had been hunted in the open and driven to stay safe in the trees, but that would not explain the later group that should have had the benefit of knowing to not go in the open, or it is like I said if you want to go with the "education" route and realize that they know (or did) that in the trees is where you die.
How do you determine which it is without actually knowing the history of the group and individuals within the group?

The normal pattern of hogs that have never seen a helicopter is to run from the noise. The second group that ran into the open got educated maybe even for a second or third time RIP . Only the hogs that survive running out in the open have the experience to decide to stay or run (thus educated!). If a larger lead hog decides to run, even the ones that have been educated may follow, just like mentally challenged humans (politically correct term for stupid) . Remember there is no school for stupid some animals/people just got a larger serving
