Hello,

I am hoping to get some info. I am wondering where it is safe to shoot off a blank gun. I am located in the outer parts of Austin. Do I have to go on public land? I am trying to get my dog some more gun fire training but it's hard to know where to go.

Thanks again for any info!

Zach

Check with your local gun club or DU chapter

If you're inside the city limits, then probably not. If you're outside the city limits, then probably yet. However, you may have neighborhood or property owner restrictions that prohibit it.

Go to Lake Granger (http://www.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/granger/) it is East of Austin by Taylor about 20 minutes east of the Dell Diamond, get a map there, there are plenty of places to train.

Just fire a few rounds. When the LEO's and the Helo's show up ask them where the right place is to practice as you lie face down on the ground. peep

Austin, probably has the law written in a manner that would get you fined or actually hauled into jail for discharging a weapon.

Drive up to Eagle Peak shooting range with your pup. Its an outside range and you dog will get an ear full.
