I had to find an "asthma friendly" hobby this summer to pass the time until hunting season opened. So, I set-up my pop-up blind in the backyard and started trapping critters. Mountain Hunter (my husband) was not thrilled with my new found entertainment, but I couldn't help myself. Each morning, I'd race out at 4:30 to see what was in the trap. I was so excited... almost like a kid at Christmas. I ended up with three possums, two raccoons, a skunk and the neighborhood cat. Not bad for livin in the city.

I apologize if these pictures are giant, or tiny. I'm still learning and I'd rather be trapping (or hunting). The first one is of me getting dangerously close to the skunk in the cage. The second is of the skunk when I found him at 4:30 in the morning.

Don't worry... I set them all free... and they ate a darn good meal while they waited for me to let them go.

I didn't wanna set the cat free... but I felt bad when I considered that it might be some kid's pet. So, I let him go. grin

In regards to not getting sprayed... the key is to back the skunk into the corner and grab him up by the tail... quickly. Once the skunk is off the ground, no problem-o. I learned that from my Animal Control friend. That trick came in handy!
