Last night couple of buddies and barmiad came over and we hoped on the four wheelers to go see if we could get in trouble. I am pretty sure she will never go hunting with me again, I tend to get a little blunt when it comes to get on the ground, get behind this bush, etc. We did about a 400 yard stalk on a large group (20-30) but before I could get in range for a headshot with the AR they moved on. Then headed down a small trail and saw some in the woods heading my way. I layed down and told her too. They walked out of the woods at 15 yards and instantly spooked. I turned around and she was just standing there, I love her to death but come on. On the way back to the four wheeler seen another large group, I take off running look back and she is just walking. Have another small group upwind bust me at 15 yards before I could get a shot. Then had a group of 30-40 come out in between me and my buddy so couldnt shoot. All together nothing worked out.

So this morning loaded up about 6 and took the pop up cause that wind was cold and steady. Saw a group of 10 cross at first day break but couldnt get the shooting sticks up in time.

Moments later starting hearing some grunting in the woods. These too walked out at 15 yards. I think they made it 16.



Then on the way back I saw a big boar. So I used the old trustworthy method and took him out

You can see a group (if you can see them, you should be able to shoot them) heading your way and come out at 15 yards. Obviously you had been watching them and they got within 15 yards, but no shot taken...not her fault

See another small group and you run. Obviously she has watched 2 failed attempts of you trying to be sneaky...my guess is that she was positive that if crawling didn't work, running damn sure wasn't....not her fault

You had another group at 15 yards and no shot, they smell you and run. Dude, they are 15 yards and you stink worse than she does...not her fault

Last group is between you and a buddy...not her fault

Sounds like you may have just gotten lucky this morning

I'd be afraid to hunt here. That looks spooky, like the Headless Horseman is gonna come charging down that lane at any moment.

I hear ya on taking the women. Several years ago just the wife and I ran offshore in my boat for some Kings, Ling, Mahi and Snapper. I came upon a weedline holding mahi about 22 miles offshore. I set up some troll lures and bait and had her take the wheel. I told her to follow the contour of the weed line but don't drive through it and don't turn sharp. What does she do? Drives straight through the weedline and fouled all of my trolling baits. Ended up catching a few mahi and all she did was cry, "Oh let 'em go. They're so pretty".

Of course she was mad at me for yelling at her to get out of the weedline. Go figure.

Now when we go and she asks, "You want me to do anything?" "Nope, just sit there and look pretty" is my usual answer now.

I would figure LP wouldn't be afraid of anything

x2 and you had an ar with you and you saw how many hogs and how close. Last time i checked ar semi auto and atleast ten round clip and you still didnt get a shot off. come on man slay some pigs. Remeber theres Accuracy in numbers with an ar let the lead fly

It's been my experience, taking women on hunting excursions will decrease the chance of harvest significantly.


How ever, chance of "success" usually increases
