I am trying to get set up to post the picture but my brother has a picture of a elk on his game camera just east of Abilene. Its low fence.

weve had this happen on our ranch in parker county... we back up to a high fence. So it wasnt to hard to guess were they came from .. we knew the ranch manager very well and agreed to not shott them if we saw them.... 4 weeks later a guy about amile down the way shot their 9 X 9 under his feeder.

We had a place west of Abilene and shot a 6x6 bull red stag.. Could be what it was?

Looks a lot like an elk... Wish one would cross @ my feeder. I would be forced to ground check him.....

I love when animals get out of high fences....We have a couple breeder does on our place that have tags in their ears from a HF place that borders ours..both have twins with them this year...!!We saw them this spring and put a no shoot on them for at least 3 more years.......

we have a place in Merkel, been there for 5 years now...we had a bunch of red deer come through...never got one of them...they showed in Sep 09.....assume they also came from high fence ranch somewhere...
