Guess it all depends. How many deer do yal have, if you have over intended carying capacity and the others in his age class are better than him I would shoot him.

No, and the reason would be because he is not a doe.

Just depends what the ranch is like. You know better than anyone else. Looks like a yearling to me, and if he is, let him walk. If he's two, he could probably go, if he doesn't stack up to the other two year old.

I'd be shooting him at that age, but that is me. But your place and your goals. If your buck to doe ratio is bad then keep him another year.

He looks young but he is also cow horned. Depends on your goal.

I let a deer like that walk for a few years. I shot him at 6.5 years old. Biggest 6 point I've seen.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Shoot them both they will never amount to much. If they mature they could easily become dominant bucks and run the good bucks off. I have a couple just like them that grew up to be gnarly old scrubs. The longer you wait the harder it will be to get them.

Dominant bucks are not always trophy bucks.

If you have too many deer including bucks then shoot them if you want. If your buck to doe ratio is out of whack then leave them alone and start whacking the doe.

This is what the deer turned into a year later.

We shot him 2 years ago(2010) as a 4.5 yo that was tearing up you younger nice 8 and 10's, he weighted 165 lbs and didnt add much at all from one year to the next.

I vote remove from herd unless you dont have enough deer to suport shooting him.
