Hoss with transfers, the company or person that you are shipping the weapon to, will need a copy of their FFL.

Then when you come in, you will have to fill out a form 4473 and have your ID ready. A background investigation will be conducted, upon approval, you will have to pay a transfer fee, then you are good to go.

Basically, getting a firearm from a good FFL is exactly like getting it from a store.

You choose an FFL dealer. They send their FFL info to the sender of the firearm. The FFL guy recieves and then hopefully tells you soon after. You meet them up at the location their license is registered at. You goa fill out the identical paperwork as you would from a store. Then they do the background check, just like a store, OR you show them a CHL. Then you shake hands and smile because you have your gun.

Pretty straight forward.

X2 I think he is talking about becoming an FFL and submitting the paperwork to the ATF and trying to do it with out errors.

Yes, thinking about the time and money put into an FFL. Sorry was not clear on that. I have contemplated for a while about it. Was curious as to how difficult it is to become one.

Hoss, not very. Fill out the paperwork, pay money and get a site inspection. They may want you to have a business liscense and insurance on place of business. Keep records. They will want to make sure you are in business and not just trying to get guns at wholesale.

depending on where you live you might run into local zoning restrictions. The ATF will make sure you are in compliance with local ordinances and codes before issuing license.
