This is all I got to show for. Was able to put it down with the .270 friday night before the rain hit. Friday Night? I thought the Season opened Sat AM?

Kinney County Sat morning 1 buck in pen before daylight and a few does showed - no shooters! Wind starting blowing out of the North and no deer movement Sat evening or Sun morning.
It rained all day and into the evening on Friday - at least I didn't get wet getting to my blind! The mud was a negative, but the cooler temps were positive.

We got 2 does and a whole lot of rain. Saw the least amount of bucks we have ever seen on our private lease! Crazy! Did see a nice 140" buck saturday afternoon, jumped in front of the truck as we were driving down the road!

I shot a 135 inch 200 pound 8 point he ran 50 yards and crashed.

A buzz, wet, some dove, and a lot of clay pigeons. It was a good weekend all in all. Most, if not all, of my mature bucks are still nocturnal. No sense in rushing things.

Soaked, cold, learned that my feeder pan needs JB Welding to the spindle that comes out of the motor, learned that I might need a new game cam too. Ugh.

Had a skittish doe walk ten yards from my stand, but couldn't see the pin. After that nothing but rain.

A buddy of mine got married on "Opening Day" and his new wife said she heard it was supposed to rain on their wedding night and that she was hoping for 7".........WELL, here wish came true......LOL!!!!!
