Hey THF , I need some advice from you dog guys. I don't have dogs and haven't for some time . I have an assignment to develop a way to measure and test a dogs temprament on place them on a scale. What do y'all think would be the best way to test and measure a dogs temprament?

If you know a DD breeder the VDD.GNA has an eval that is used on every litter to help match the pups temprament with the level of training experince of the owner.

We provide a matrix that grades temperaments on each individual pup with each litter. I am careful not to put either end of any of the criteria as something that can be construed at "good" or "bad", but rather a range on different aspects of temperament. I remind puppy buyers that what is a preferable temperament for one person may be all wrong for another and to take into consideration how they plan to not only incorporate the pup into their lives, but their training & handling style as well as experience level. We compare how a pup approaches his world, for instance, on a grade of 'bold' vs 'reasonable' or how he learns as 'thinker' vs 'kinesthetic.' Then I provide a key that defines each of these, taking care to show the pros/cons of each and reminding that again, none are 'good' or 'bad', but a matter of personal preference. Since pups behavior changes, we grade them weekly and look for trends. Pups are scored based on objective criteria in order to avoid being too subjective. That said, it's impossible to be totally objective.

What exactly would the findings be used for? Is it to measure overall breed temperment? Individual temperment of a dog to match with an owner?
