He is a nice buck, my guess is 3-1/2 to 4. His rack is nice but his shoulders are smaller than hind quarters and neck is not filled out. His head could also be bigger as it narrows down to a small nose. All that said, he would be hard to pass up but if we have a good fall/spring weather wise he should be even bigger next year.

1 or 2 more yrs and he will have that much rack and will have bred a few does and be much heavier. Which IMHO would make him better.

Lampasas area I would call him 4.5. He's a little heavier than most of our 3.5s in body.

Why do people always guess in whole numbers? Deer are born in late spring, they are always going to be 1/2 year old in the fall ( 1 1/2, 2 1/2, etc.)

As for that deer, his back is pretty straight, he has a touch of belly, horns don't have that much mass. Would say 3.5, maybe 4.5 but I doubt it.

Most So. Texas Ranches I've Cull Shot over the yrs would have a fit if I let him pass and breed their does another yr..they hunt
and sell score and he seems to be a permanent 8 or 9 tops..but a
nice animal...DD
