Im 17 and went duck hunting for the first time this morning, only saw about 5 ducks but way out of range, I have decoys and everything, is there anything I can do to bring in what little birds I see, close enough for me to shoot at some?

Any help or tips are greatly appreciated

Find the X and set up there for now. When you get a little better and can run a call and understand ducks a little better you will have better luck at running traffic and trading birds

Sit at a good vantage point and see where they are wanting to land.

During mid day drive around and see where they ate wanting to sit/feed/rest

Go out and set up a blind or find a nicely covered area to hide

Be there bright n early and have fun!

a mojo spinning wing decoy helps if you don't already have one

+1 when I started I didn't even use deeks or calls, but I'd put lots of miles on my truck and boots a day or 2 before the hunt, then just sneak in at dark and sit in some brush as close as possible to where they want to be.
