earliest I recal is about 7:15 or so in the morning waiting to gut a deer.

My lease is way to close to Bandera tx,so plenty of drinkin in one of the 7 bars there.

lately, the Quail have been slim pickins, so I haven't even carried a gun while hunting wild birds in a few years, I mostly handle the dogs & drive the Mule to where the GPS says we have a dog on point, it's not unlikely for me to be sipping on some Seagrams seven well before lunch time.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

It really depends on:
a. How seriously I'm hunting. A lot of the "hunts" I do, I'm spotting or scouting for someone else and am only out there for hogs. I will be drinking within 20 seconds of hitting the blind if I haven't popped one in the truck on the way.
b. My setup. I'm much less inclined to drink if I'm up a tree or somewhere I actually need to watch what I'm doing.

In my younger days pretty early. Now that I have matured and can't take pain like I used to not quite as early. This, besides,at least with me- one's too many and twelve aren't enough. Once I start I don't want to stop, then I get SWEEPY.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it.

The lease I hunt this weekend is alcohol free. Well, at least where the landowner can see. I'm sure one or two will happen at lunch and after the evening hunt. Thats no lease...

As soon as I get back in the morning. Il hit it hard for a couple hours the take a sweet nap until time for the evening hunt. When Im fishing, its as soon as I hit the water

I will leave the drinking to the young guys. Now, if I get a nice buck, I always got some Silver Bullets on hand to celebrate. Did I mention I kill a lot of animals

If you wake up and start drinking Coors Lite is that really drinking ? when trying to rehydrate after the hard stuff. When I was a senior in high school we went to my buddies farm in weimer to hunt a little and mess around. We had a case of coors light between two of us and we killed that case by 1pm and we wernt even buzzed
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
