My buddy has a Berreta 3901 he is wanting to sale and its like new with camo from the factory. I have always had the Remington 1100. What do you guys think about the 3901, I really only hunt dove and may start hunting a few ducks. Thanks

Buy it if he price is right.

But Please don't try and sell it here to bypass the 100 post rule..

Can't go wrong with a Beretta in my opinion. I've never owned a 3901, but I have two 390's. The 3901 is the more recent version of the 390. The 390 is a FINE shotgun, and I'd have to think the 3901 would be very similar. Very reliable.

Looks like we're neighbors...if you decide you don't want it, let me know what he wants for it.

RWH24, Dont really know what your talking about on the 100 post rule, but thanks for the advice. I just have not bought a new shotgun in awhile, like 20 years. So, I know they have changed alot and was curious to what others thought on that gun before I bought his. He has changed his mind and found a really good deal on a new higher end Bennali.

THX has a rule that all gun selling or trading must occur in the classified section. In order to post in this section you have to have made at least 100 posts on the forum prior to listing any weapons on the classifieds.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. Thomas Edison.

Ok just figured it out, I am a little slow I guess. My post was not really that clear, i was not trying to sell the gun. I was just wanting some true advice on that gun.

3901 is a great gun. My wife has one and I have 2 391's in 12 & 20ga. Hers is synthetic, mine are wood.
The 3901 in classifieds has turned my eye several times.
For a knock about, 3901 synthetic can't be beat.

I know I wish I'd bought one when they were cheap! I have a few 391s and wouldnt part with them for anything.

They are a cross between the 390 and the 391 they are built for the entry shotgun market and are a good gun but some of the features like the plastic butt plate dont catch my eye

Hey B Madigan how is it going? The 3901 is a great shotgun for the money but they LOP is 14.5" which is too long for me. If it was not for that I would still have mine.

By the way guys B Madigan is a class 3 FFL in the DFW area, has very reasonable prices, knows a lot about firearms, is a former marine and will build you a very nice black rifle.

The 3901 is a fantastic and reliable gun. Easy to clean. The recoil spring can jam if the action isnt kept clean, and without tools youre done for the day if this happens. The barrel will rust if neglected. Other than that, probably my favorite auto.
