Opened the door this morning and this little guy fell down in front of me and darted into the house. I caught him and returned him outside.

Cute little fella....

Tiny?? That's an adult. I see them around my house that aren't even an inch long. Four adults have staked out our kitchen window screen for their hunting grounds. The light from inside attracts tiny little bugs that they attack with a vengence. The neat theing about them is that they come in a wide variety of colors.

My Jack Russell loves chasing em around when they get in the house. He always brings em to ya like he did something.

That is NOT an adult. I'm not sure what species you have....but this is a newborn. The adults are nearly 6 inches long....and I have 15-20 of them scattered all over the outside of my house at night.

I love them....they keep the skeeter population down around my porch.

Hmm. I've never seen one around my house over 3-1/2" or so. And that's stretching it.

Just curious.....why did you say in your other post that you have adults at your house that are under an inch?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you...

There are a few around here as well. Frogs are starting to show up too. Do they eat geckos? I'm guessing they probably do. I'd rather have the geckos.

I didn't mean that the adults were under an inch long. I meant that compared to the sizes I see around my house, the one in your pic wasn't that small. More accurately said "If you think that's small, you should see the small ones at my house".

Mediterranean Geckos

I first noticed them as a child about 16 years ago. Their population is booming now in N. Tx.

First reported in Key West, FL in 1915. Now you can find them all across the south. They are resistant to most pesticides and reproduce like crazy. They rely on humans for survival and although they are not native, so far they pose very little threat to native species because of where they live. You rarely find them away from the city.

They occupy spaces that native Texas lizards don't live in. They like to congregate around porch lights and have even been known to eat small roaches.

I try not to kill them because they don't hurt me, I think they are neat, and they eat insects.

Hmmm.....it might be something else, because I still have anoles around my house. They don't seem to have a problem coexisting with the Geckos.

Same here Eland Slayer, have Anoles and Geckos, all living harmoniously. They eat lots of bugs.

They grow to about seven inches and will tear up a cockroach. I saw many of them in the Philippines. They got here on imported hibiscus and boganvelia plants. My dad finds the eggs all the time stuck on the bottom of the leaves of these plants.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
