It's hard to know exact reason, if they had Milo planted....and it is dried out, it doesn't take much to knock those seed heads out...strong wind or storm could lay your crop down....once its down ain't no getting it back up.
No farmer can tell you exactly when he/she will harvest or plant... Unfortunately.
Atleast they got a couple weeks out of it.
But even plowing it under I bet there is still a lot of seed on the ground

^^^^^^^^^^^^This I think they just look at it as bonus money for access to the land and they do not alter their procedures for it at all. I dont think the outfitter even tries to negotiate that either.

If anyone has hunted the horse park or any of the pastures I have they will tell you I have been upfront with what is happening. I have never seen any crop get planted where seed bed work wasnt done first. I will even bet when we have corn next summer somebody will be cryin cause they cant shoot or they cant access a place. Here is the best advice if you dont like it what it has become or is then pm me your phone number and we can talk about it. Otherwise go play d&d.

Just watching the boards ccrock has been very up front with his farming and day rates. Plus they are day rates not season rates.
I am more so talking about leases that were $500 up front to have ask this special grain planted. Now 3 weeks into the season it's a dirt field.
Has this outfitters with truck wraps an you tube videos been up front?
I know ccrock and the horse farm has

I have a question......
What do the "dove blaster" places look like now? That guy made it look like he put some serious time and $ into his fields. Surely he still has a few birds with all the plots he planted.

Like a bare dirt field. You would never know that somebody has planted it and marketed it. I passed it the other day to see 5 trucks within 80 yards of each other all hunting the natural flowers. And they are very thin. All planted material is plowed. Not enough birds to go hunting

Uh, if you are on a dove lease at all, then you are new to hunting. All I ever got out of a dove lease was one good hunt. How do you think outfitters make their money. They manage the fields. Not have hunters in them everyday. Some fields might be good for one hunt a season. If you lease you might have 10 fields and only 1 might produce limits a few weeks after opening but everyone will find out and shoot it out In a day. The best lease I had was one the outfitter would tell us where the birds are and could give numbers. But you better be ready to go in a day as they migrate and get shot at.

Not to jump into the fire, but where to hunt doves successfully besides a lease?
Too many shotguns? Huh?

Outfitted hunts aka day hunts on scouted fields, friends places, deer leases. Many do not have have luxury so season leases are fine but they are what they are. Shot out quickly and most of the time the birds do not return. And most of the people won't let you know if the birds are back or not so you waste gas for a single bird. Some season leases do let you know when the birds are there but so will everyone else know and all congregate on that single field.
The post was started about people paying $500 for a season lease. I asked the guy last season how the hunting was and never got a response. Hey, when I go dove hunting, I like to shoot at birds.

I hunt in Frisco every year and never had a problem with the fields being plowed, made no difference on the birds. Birds cleared out about a week before the season this year with the rains, no sure why but they sure did on me. Tons of doves in Oklahoma though where we usually only have a few. Also all of the few doves we did get in frisco were white wings.

And they are very thin. All planted material is plowed. Not enough birds to go hunting You know something brother-in-law, you have been bad mouthing me from the beginning. In the past I have just ignored your ramblings, but now I will defend myself to you, someone who clearly knows absolutely NOTHING of my operation. Yes, some of the food plots were plowed, however, the areas that were of value were left with standing milo and sunflowers to be shredded at a later date in the season. You just can't see it from the road. You wouldn't know this because you are NOT a member. If it will make you sleep better at night, feel free to arrange a time and I will personally meet you out there to show you the remaining food plots. Or better yet, I'll put a YouTube video up just for you giving you full credit. As far as the birds, you can't put a high fence around birds. I keep in contact with the members as soon as I get reports on any activity that may occur either through text message or email. You wouldn't know this either, because you are NOT a member. I bet you also didn't know that I have continued to spend THOUSANDS on a new place for my members who paid the $500.00 to hunt where they can limit out in less than an hour. You wouldn't know this either because you are NOT a member. I have been VERY upfront and honest with ALL of my members. I work full time on this business. I pride myself on high quality of customer service I give to my members and the legitimacy of my business which is in full cooperation with the laws, regulations and current zoning. My number is below. Feel free to call me any time to discuss your issues. Here's a picture taken last week at the new location of all the dove that I don't have. In all seriousness, call me. I'm taking you huntin! I'd rather be your friend than your enemy. I'll make a believer out of you!
