The one thing that worries me about open carry is the ability of someone to walk up behind you and pull your pistol out of its holster before you can stop them. In this case it sounds like he gave it up.
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

There is a good reason not to open carry.

Those Blackhawk holsters are so dangerous. I personally don't want anyone to know I have a firearm with me to have an advantage should a situation arise.

Those Blackhawk holsters are so dangerous. I personally don't want anyone to know I have a firearm with me to have an advantage should a situation arise. This I don't understand. The Serpa Blackhawks have a pressure release to allow the gun to be unholstered. It is very safe and effective,IMO. Also as I was OC yesterday...I was in line and there were people behind me. I moved to the side and situationally made me feel more comfortable. Always aware. It's a responsibility......not a cell phone on my hip, IMO. Btw....couldn't watch video above....iPad.

If you have no intention of using the gun in that moment of truth, then you have no business carrying it. You just armed the bad guys.
Ain't no way in heck will I ever surrender my weapon. You'll have to kill me first. And yes, I've had several people over the years attempt to take my weapon. None have succeeded.

Nothing gets more attention in a convenience store that a bunch of Hell's Angles, open carrying standing, in a nice line to pay for their beer and cigs. I witnessed that in an open carry state many years ago.

So are you saying that "Open Carry" is a Convenience Store for Thugs? Well then I agree. Never like OC anyway except at the deerlease. I like the surprise affect on perps. Concealed Carry, Keep it that'a way... Thanks for the share.

This is why you NEED concealed carry. F open carry! I never understood it, and still don't.

I agree I prefer CC over open carry. Giving away your gun is a stupid move, although that one dude I'm sure wouldn't have to worry about getting his gun stolen his arms are bigger than my head.

It sounds like concealed carry was not an option in WI, but open carry was. And the victim had a gun pointed at him, and had to show the suspect how to get his own gun out of the holster.
In God we trust, all others get run through TCIC. Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. Lack of Planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
