Cool buck!!! Have you ever shot anything out of your stand in that tree in the pic? You'll stick out like sore thumb! If you have, WOW!

Not sure I would agree with you. For the morning hunt the deer would be looking into the sun.
But he would be better off hanging some burlap across the back between the V branches.

I'm sure no expert on Non-typical bucks but the first thing I thought of is that this deer wouldn't make AR requirements if in an AR county.... confused2 I don't have a clue but I'd sure check if I were you before I stuck him and started parading him around. grin

He looks 4.5 yo to me. Throw lots of protein and corn at him for at least another 2 years, maybe 3, and then blast him to kingdom come.

Shot this guy last year. First bow buck.

I have yet to be spotted by anything sitting there, and the stand isn't as close as it looks. The mesh is a good idea though.

Smiling Mallard, that's what I'm worried about.

Ive argued over and over with guys I hunt with who seem to believe you cant have anything showing but your eyes from a stand. They brush theirs in so much you cant see anything except the 5 yards under the feeders. Makes for a boring hunt. Ive shot lots of deer from stands that looked just like yours. Deer dont naturally look up for predators so as long as you sit still you should be fine

Give the deer a couple more years, he might become a bragger! Get a better spot to hunt from, a mature buck or doe will bust you quick out of that spot! Good pictures!

Stub, I have had a group of about 10 doe last year on opening weekend of bow season, same setup. Not one even acknowledged that I was there. The morning I shot my first bow buck, there were two other potential shooters in the pen with him. I don't think I'll be spotted as easily as you think.

Wow thats pretty cool, you must be a stealth master! My big bobo could not get away without getting popped by one of them.
If you hunt a big enough tract you ought to give him a couple of more years!

We're only on 197 acres, but none of the land around us is being hunted. This is sort of a temporary lease until we find something better. We were not expecting the amount of good bucks that showed up last year.

And I'm a small guy.. about 160 lbs, so I get away with a lot.

I have not personally seen a freak like this, and was wondering what other's opinions were. The only thing that is iffy, and the ultimate deciding factor is if it meets AR. I'm going to check the cam sometime this week, hopefully he has a straight on view.

But in a sense, I do agree with you on letting him walk.

I like that rack, interesting look and agree if you let him walk he will look awesome. Not sure he will make ARs this season but definitely an interesting rack when he does.
