Thinking about hunting whitney this year. Its bow only for deer. Wondering if anyone has hunted there before and what are your thoughts about it. Thanks for your info.

Good hunting, especially if you have a boat and can get away from the crowds. Stay away from Kimball Bend and Nolan River Park area way over crowded.

Yea I remember my first time hunting on corp's land. Man I surveyed for about a month allot on different areas and found some really good deer. Most places I inspected showed little sign of any human active but come opening day. I counted over thirty cars at my first spot and was like what the hell is going on. This section of land was only big enough for maybe 10 people at best working together. So next I tried the boating idea and it got even worst I hate to say. On the big island by the bridge I counted over 15 fresh stands within 20 minutes after landing. And man don't walk up on someone if you are planning on going by boat because most hunters are like you should have known that's their area. It's better than nothing I guess? Good luck!!

My first time this year and I was afraid of that!

You might opt for Lake Aquilla instead - only 20 miles away!

Locals act like Whitney is their private property, real shame
