And to think she was gonna go sleep over at a friends house last night. She said, "Dad, I promise to never think about choosing a slumber party over hunting again"  Priorites back in check.  This was a great hunt on many levels. It was Kendall's first limit, her first band, and she got to share it all with Bart on what was most likely his last early teal season hunt. I think he has a hunt or 2 left in him in November but this is his Farewell Tour this season and he is going out with a bang. Ol' boy brought my girl some bling.  Special day for all of us

Congrats. ... Bart on what was most likely his last early teal season hunt. I think he has a hunt or 2 left in him in November but this is his Farewell Tour this season and he is going out with a bang. This makes me sad.

Me too Foosh  Bart has had a career that spans 12 seasons afield. Ain't many labs have gone that long afield. I have been lucky with him as he has hunted hard and made some of the most increduble retrieves I have ever seen any dog make. He is all heart. I just wish he wasn't all arthritis in his knees, too. He still marks well, handles well, and has the eyes of a hawk. He just ain't got the wheels left anymore. I think he will be able to do a few hunts in Nov as long as it isnt in mucky terrain where he has to work to get across the blocks. As long as it is just swimming in my private or the rivers I think he can still do it. Anything high impact and he'll be done after only a few retrieves. But when the water temps start to chill down, that is when he is really done as he will just stove up as soon as he gets wet. It has been a wonderful ride with him and I love him as if he is my son. I may have other labs but there will never be another Bart. Thanks guys for your kind words for Kendall. I am blessed to have such a wonderful daughter that shares the same passion as all of us here do. I am glad she got to hunt with Bart for 6 years and be a part of his great memories. Those were special times with him that she'll never forget...especially the day he brought her back a bracelet
