Pros: good in blinds and other tight spaces.
Cons: More handshock then dual cam bows, harsh drawcycle, not very forgiving, old tech.

It is a great bow. As for handshock, I guess I don't really know what that is LoL because I don't have any, and can't really recall ever having any with the last 20 Mathews bows that I've owned over the years. The only HS I ever recall was from a Hoyt recurve I owned. I've owned three eXtremes and two z7's, but only have the eXtreme Tactical currently. It's one of those things, a guy is in dire need of a bow set-up to go and he only has a couple of days to get it done, so I sell my bow with a convenience fee I would go to a pro shop and shoot one just to see how you like it, but this question is almost like, "Do you prefer Fruit of the Loom or Jockey underwear," because you are going to get everyone's personal opinion. I started to add that my opinion is always right, but didn't because someone may not agree with my opinion

I picked up 60lb limb model in jan for a good price. I saved up to rig it out how I wanted. I love it. After shooting all summer, I would have maybe gotten 65 or 70lb max limbs instead but that's all I would change. I dont think you would be disappointed with it.

It's a very smooth shooting bow, no noticable hand shock at all. I love mine, and will shoot it until significant technology unfolds. The only negetive thing I have noticed is being 28" ATA that it a little harder to hold steady when compared to my older DXT. I recently put an 8 " B Stinger Stabilizer on it and it is perfect now. Big difference! Cant go wrong with it, IMO.

I had a guy bring a bow in and it was was about $450 for work on an older bow.

At that point I would have bought a new one. I may have to go that route. But with the quality accessories that are on the bow I have now I figure I can sell it. I have a back up bow I can shoot until I get another one and since the surgery will take me out 4 or 5 months there is no rush.

I shoot a four year old Z7 and a Z7 Extreme Tactical that I got last year. I bought the second bow because of a trip to Illinois. I kept hearing how you did not want to travel a long way to hunt with only one bow.
Anyway, the only downside of the Extreme was that I still had my original Z7 and I loved it. It took me awhile to get used to the Extreme because I kept hunting with my old tried and true Z7.
I shoot a 70lb draw with a 29" draw length. My only issue was that with the short axle to axle the bow felt harder to stabilize. Even though I say that, I was shooting some amazing groupings at 40 yards.
This past off season I seem to be used to the shorter axle to axle length and am holding it more steady. The groupings are great and I may hunt with it more than I do with my old Z7 this season.
Mathews Z7 Bow for Whitetail and Hogs Remington R-15 .223 REM for predators I also like to "hunt" sporting clays with my Benelli SuperSport!

Good bow if you buy new, if you buy used make sure its the right draw, Mathews are expensive on their cams, especially the helium

I shoot a Z7 and love it and have heard better things about the extreme. I really don't think you can go wrong buying a new Matthew's, or any new bows for that matter.

like said above go to a pro shop and shoot as many different bows as possible. to see which one feels more comfortable in your hands.
