 10mm ammo for conceal carry gun?

I'm wanting a 10mm,but was worried about over penetration.I've heard that a 10mm can go through walls, cars, ect.Would this be an ok round with hollow point ammo for self defense?

I carry a G29 daily shooting 175 Winchester Silver Tips at 1180 fps. If you are worried about over penetration with a 10mm, carry a 150 grain load. IMO, a 135 grain load is too light and doesn't shoot well at all in the Glocks. A 10mm can go through most anything a 45 or 357 can go through. IMO, if you have to use a handgun, you are undergunned anyway.

Well, I found a Colt Delta Elite with upgrades & 350 rds of ammo real cheap.I normally carry a .38spl or 9mm.

I carry a G20c with 180 gr. HPs at 1150 they don't over penetrate on piggies!

The 10mmis an unusual round for general carry. I had another officer at the PD carry one for a while and then it faded away and he went back to a .45.
I have carried a pistol for 26 years and off-duty only had to pull it a few times. You always have to think about liability and what happens if you shoot someone. We all know that you shoot to stop an attack and never to kill... A lawyer for the family will argue that you intentionally carreid a caliber that was designed to kill with no chance of victim survival...
As opposed to a .45 or 9 in which victims have survived, even if only due to poor shot placement. If you were an armed guard of jewelry courier, then sure a 10mm would be great. BUt I think a nice 9mm would be great.
I carry a Kimber .45 CDP II or a Sig P239 in 9 most of the time now that I am no longer wearing a badge.

Glock 20 in 10mm. What's not to love. Not ideal for concealment, but will do the job for sure. 15.2 gr of AA No.9 and 165 gr GDHP bullets will move at 1256 fps with a muzzle energy of 578 ft/lbs. Very accurate load too.
