7mm, that is debateable.

There are certain scopes that are designated with extended ER, and then you have LER or Scout scopes. Then you are going to have red dots. Still classified as scopes. And these are typically unlimited eye relief.

Let's start from the beginning.

Burris Scout
Has an ER of 14"

Burris Handgun gun scope 2-7X32
Has an ER of 21" to 10"

Leatherwood Scout 2-7X32
Has an ER of 13.2" to 8.7"
http://swfa.com/Leatherwood-2-7x32-Long-Eye-Relief-Scout-Scope-P1568.aspx

Leupold

VX-3 Handgun 2.5-8X32
Has an ER of 15"
http://swfa.com/Leupold-25-8x32-VX-3-Handgun-Scope-P42157.aspx

Scout scope
VX-II 1.5-4X28
Has an ER of 8.75" to 7.75"
http://swfa.com/Leupold-15-4x28-VX-II-Scout-Scope-P50858.aspx

VX-R Custom(SWFA Exclusive)
1.5-5X33
Has an ER of 8" to 6.75"
http://swfa.com/Leupold-15-5x33-VX-R-Scout-Scope-P51466.aspx

FX-II
2.5X28
Has an ER 9.3"
http://swfa.com/Leupold-25x28-FX-II-Scout-Scope-P3261.aspx

Nikon
Force XR
2.5-8X28
Has an ER of 30" to 9"
http://swfa.com/Nikon-25-8x28-Force-XR-EER-Handgun-Scope-P51968.aspx

Force XR
2X20
Has an ER of 22.4"
http://swfa.com/Nikon-2x20-Force-XR-EER-Handgun-Scope-P51969.aspx

Weaver

Handgun scopes
1.5-4X20
Has an ER of 15.5" to 6.5"
http://swfa.com/Weaver-15-4x20-Classic-Handgun-Scope-P2855.aspx

2X28
Has an ER of 29"
http://swfa.com/Weaver-2x28-Classic-Handgun-Scope-P2859.aspx

2.5-8X28
Has an ER of 24" to 12"
http://swfa.com/Weaver-25-8x28-Classic-Handgun-Scope-P2857.aspx

4X28
Has an ER of 18"
http://swfa.com/Weaver-4x28-Classic-Handgun-Scope-P2860.aspx

After evaluating all the Scout and LER scopes with magnification. The longest is going to be by Nikon with 30 inches

Without mag, if this is a trick question, would be something with HUD or an RMR...like EOTech.

Wow, wasn't expecting all that. . . and of course that's my fault. I didn't give you enough information as to what I was looking for.

This would be for scopes on hunting rifles. I have a Vortex that has a 3.1" eye relief and have seen some Leupolds that range from 3.7-4.4", and the Zeiss I have seen have 3.5"

I am looking for a nice scope (Zeiss, Leupold, etc.) that would have a longer than average eye relief.

Thanks for the info (sorry you looked all that up, and it wasn't really what I needed)

Ok, I gotcha now.

3.5" is the sweet spot in my opinion.

Let me do some digging and I'll what I can find for you.

What sort of mag are you looking for? Typically with more mag, your ER will be shortened.

Nikon I believe advertises a constant 4" of eye relief in their monarch series, but skylar can confirm.

another question:
Trying to choose a scope, here are "requirements":
- at least 12x max zoom, 16x or greater preferred.
- Lighted reticle, BDC or mil or anything useful and not obstructing view with huge bars.
- Min 40mm lense, larger preferred.
- must be able to handle 30-06
- should not break bank :-)
Thank you
