I had bought my wife a Springfield xd9 tactical a while back, she loved the pistol except when she had to rack it because of how stiff it was. I popped some wolf reduced power springs in it, and she's happy again its made it a lot easier for her to rack it back. I had tried showing her different ways to do it and everything, but none of it helped. This helped a lot though,

x2

My girl would love if I could reduce the pull needed, but I have the same questions as jeff. Lose any accuracy or having rtf/fte issues?

I've got the same problem with wife and her Beretta PX4. I didn't consider a softer spring, since I assumed that would cause cycling problems and maybe damage to the pistol.

I'll be taking her out soon to check that out, I am wondering about how it will handle now with the spring tension being less. Their spring kits are not too expensive so I might go up a bit from where it is right now, I just know that before it was not working because it was to stiff for her to reliably chamber a round but now she is able to. I'm planning on buying her a smaller pistol for her CHL carry also, she really liked the feel of the Ruger LCP. I'll let you know how she does, I might pop in the old springs and do a side by side target shoot to see which one she is more accurate with.

Are you going to shoot reduced power loads with the softer springs?

To answer your question, not yet I'm tweaking it still they make springs varying from 9 pounds to about 19 so my goal is to get her shooting the heaviest spring set but still able to reliably do everything on her own. With the full power springs she can shoot it and can sometimes rack it but it's a major struggle. So we started off just working the action with lighter springs to see which were still possible for her to work. Next ill take her shooting with the heaviest of those and then put in the factory ones and see which she groups better with. I'm getting her a ruger in 380 for her cc when she gets it though she was able to handle that stock no problems.

i'd figure lifting that new baby would be a good workout to where she can build up the strength needed!

hahaha yeah no joke, she's a good size baby already. You going out to the range in Longview anytime soon? I would love to check it out before I get a membership. Planning on getting one there instead of the one on 31, seems to be a better range.
