Does anyone in NE Texas (Tyler/Longview Area) provide this training? I have a couple, soon to be three dogs that I have spent a lot of money and an unreal amount of time on that I don't want to lose to a stupid reptile. I would try it myself but I am as scared of a snake as I am a democrat.

Get the vaccinations too. At my vet it was $40 for the initial and $15 for the booster.

any trainers in the plano area? I'm from the East Coast and don't want my Brittany puppy get into trouble. Better safe than sorry. Also anyone looking for another hunting buddy or run the dogs in the Plano Area please PM. New to the area and need to learn the area, etc.

Amen, snake trained or not get the vaccine. I am snake trained pretty well, but could still step on one in the thick grass. It is well worth it.

Retriever club out in Tyler hosted one in August last year, and I took my dog out there. Forget the guy's name but the snakes had their mouths stapled shut. My pup learned pretty quick that snakes are evil (something I already knew).

I'd recommend the vaccine every six months -- once in August before you dove hunt and once in Feb before it warms up. Best to have it in the dog about 30 days before you hit the field. Should run you less than $20 per booster dose (sometimes more for the initial shot).
