Are those salamanders next to it? No, I think that is the reflection of the turtle shell he sleeps in. Looks like a California kingsnake to me. For all the snake haters, fear not....they are known to eat rattlesnakes. You got it, and in the wild they mostly eat snakes, rattlers included. This thing is basically a worm with scales. It's completely harmless and this particular one has a cool personality.
