Welcome to the THF.

Hope you stick around and enjoy the campfire, lots of really great folks on here, and a few Old Farts, in fact you may qualify for membership in our O.F.C..

Again, Welcome to the campfire and keep up the good work with TF&G magazine.

Thanks, CH. Always nice to be welcomed in spite of (or even because of) one's old-fart status.

Actually, that dubious treatment has been thoroughly debunked. In EMT training and subsequent CE the standard is essentially "do nothing and transport to ER."

I agree but if you were in a situation where the ER was'nt a choice. it'd be an at home cure i would to attempt to heal or hold out till help arrived

All I can say if the snake butes you on the backside while you're going #2 and your survival depends on the cut and suck, you gonna die suckah!

I thought it was one of those unwritten mountain man laws that if you got bit on the backside, your hunting partner was obligated to suck it out.

Shoot straight and always carry a 7mm Remington Magnum.

Water moccasins inject a large dose of venom and their venom is the worst about destroying tissue.

water moccasin venom only has about a third of the toxicity of a rattlesnake...
