We scouted this weekend and found good numbers of Blue Wing Teal hitting our private water. Flocks with 100+ birds. We took video and will post it to our web site this week.

We use about a dozen teal and 2 or 3 big ducks like pintail or hen mallard. Early season, they usually love the mojo. Some guys will hunt early season with only 3 or 4 decoys and even say that the dove mojo will suck them in too.

They are suckers for the mojo dove. I always set one up at the waters edge and shoot dove too.

Pretty intersting as I spent the last 3 out of 6 days in the Bowie area, and didn't see a single teal??
Just saying.
Was planting a 30 acre wetland in Stoneburg.
Wish I had seen 100's of teal...
Did see quiet a few dove though.

Saw 3 good size groups yesterday on the salt flats. The full moon is almost here, all we need is a good front.

I'm not a bird biologist but I don't find it hard to believe that more birds may push back north that are alrwady on the gulf coast area to get away from the hurricane making landfall. They can sense winter storms coming from up north, what makes you thinkn they can't sense them coming from the south....
