Our northern boundary neighbor decided to put one of his feeders about 30 foot from the fence. He has 1000 acres to put a feeder on, this pasture we are hunting on is only about 250 acres. Now I know he has more places to put a feeder than 30 feet from the damn fence.

For the technical elitests on here I know it is on his property but that's not the point - he has 1000 acres to choose from! It boils down to being rude and inconsiderate.

Our 2 feeders on our pasture are every bit of 200 yards from any fence.

Gonna try to catch him out there and try to have a polite convo with him and ask him to please move his feeder. If that doesn't work......

Pie plates on the fence, some clothes stuffed with straw to mimick a human form that stays covered in human urine and shaving cream, truck parked right there, small radio to keep music playing, human hair scattered everywhere......the list is endless

We have a neighbor whose feeder has one leg tied to the fence post. I dont think he could get it any closer. I need to find a solar powered radio that I could put in the area. realmad

Where is his blind placement. I could be wrong while nothing can stop him from placing his feeder on the fenceline isn't there something the game warden can do if he is directly firing onto your property.

If you can some how prove that a shot went across the fence line.

To be determined

I once had a neighbor that tied his tower blind to the fence between us. I quietly walked up to the blind pee's on the leg of his blind and eased out without him knowing I was ever there. City boys. haha

Nope. Just like he can't tell me where I can put my cattle pens, feral hog holding pens, garbage dump, burn pile, junked out truck or anything else.

Agree. It may be his property and his "right" but there is a such thing as being good neighbors and putting your feeder that close to the neighbors isn't it.

I didn't learn this by seeing it on TV, I learned it by doing it.

Put a blind up on the fenceline and hunt the critters coming to his feeder. There is one feeder you didnt have to buy, set up or put corn in. Problem solved!

I don't smoke ,so I can't say but I highly doubt it. I do know a loud fart works! I think they like the smell plus I guess they think it's a buck grunt.

Not saying i would do what he did, but it is his right to do what he wants. The end of the day you can't make him do anything he doesn't want to do. By all means do what you feel you need to do, but just fyi there are hunter harrasment laws. Does it suck what he did, yes.

I take it from another angle as well as I'm a property owner with hunters. If one of my hunters puts his stuff any where near a fence line he will immediately be sent packing because I will not have a "visitor" jeopardize my relationship with a neighbor.

I have five neighbors and am fortunate to have a fair slice of country. One neighbor only has 10 acres. He is a fair individual and I would be damned embarrassed if one of my hunters hurt his hunting or hurt his experience of being able to hunt his place. In return he hunts as far from a fence line as possible, a pretty good feat in that I completely surround him expect for his highway frontage.

Ryan nailed it on the head and "fish" offers a very solid advantage from the situation if you can keep the bullet inside the fence. Him objecting to you hunting your side of the fence in an effort to kill a critter would be harassment on his behalf.

I bow hunt so my "bullets" will be kept on my side of the fence. Now I know where to put that tripod. Don't know what kind of fella he is so a chain and padlock will be a must.

Still a good idea to try to talk with the fellow, see what kind of guy he is. It might come to pass that you have no problem to with his intentions. I have met up with my 10 acre neighbor on the fence line and found out that he had not had any luck which was quickly resolved. I'm a MLD and let him fill his freezer with the doe deer he was able to shoot on my place as he does not receive any permits.

Years ago, I found a bolt, arrow, from a crossbow about 50 yards inside my fence. Pointed like it had been shot at a right angle to the fence and across it.

A day or two later I pulled up to Ben's truck in a parking lot and after the pleasantries asked him if he new where "that" had come from. He didn't even ask me where I found it but he did say I had just done him a favor as he had been having minor problems with a fellow. He told the fellow not to come back and to get his hunting partners to get his stuff off as he was not welcome back on the place.

It is all about manners and respect of others and their property.

I just don't understand how some people get all bent out of shape cuz a feeder is on the fence line. It wouldn't bother me at all. I wished one of my neighbors would do that.
Then, I could turn my feeder off, saving me a ton of money on feed. Then, just move my stand closer to the fence, and hunt off his feeder. I'll either shoot one on the way to it (on my side of the fence) or wait till it gets thru eating and jumps the fence.
Yessir!!! I'd make use of it!!!

I would do what the others said above and hunt the feeder. I have neighbors around me that hunt along my fence and I have one set up that is just to intercept the deer going from my bedding area to their feeder on their side of the fence. I bow hunt so they probably don't even know I am there.

I don't like feeders close to my property, but I don't get bent out of shape over it. We don't own the deer, although we sometimes get to feel that way.

The one thing that I will NOT tolerate is rifle hunters shooting TOWARDS my land. And NO - the deer does not count as a "stop" for the bullet.

Looked at the setup yesterday with my dad. Feeder is 30 yards from fence and his blind is 100 yards from feeder shooting directly at our property.

Dang! He doesn't know the law. I'd politely tell him that any shot he takes will likely end up being illegal.

at least try and talk to him before things get ugly. when we bought our place, the 1200ac behind us is a farming/grazing operation. therefore it has very little to no brush on it. all crop and coastal. there was a deer blind right on our fence because our place is all brush.

i talked to they guy. he turned out to be very reasonable. so he says he's never killed a deer and doesn't intend to, the purpose fo the blind and feeder was to kill hogs coming out of our place and going into his. i asked him to move it, and he did.

This is what's so scary, and it seems a lot of people have very little to no common sense. That is serious enough that if you can't locate him to talk face to face I would go so far as to put up a sign right at your fenceline that says, "I have serious safety concerns about your setup! Please contact me!" (leave your number)

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I have a feeder on a fence line. My stand is in a spot that there are many shots i can take where the bullet would cross the fence and many shots where they stay on my place. My neighbor has no problem with this as long as its me and my family hunting my stand. He just says "watch my horses, dont hunt my land but feel free to go over after a wounded animal".
