I hunt in the Neches River Bottoms and last spring we had some big rains up river. Got these pictures of ducks in early April eating under my feeder. FYI ... my feeder is about 200 yards from the Neches River and about 10 feet higher in elevation.

Lots of deer and hogs. Occasional coyote and bobcat.

So fine.

Don't have that problem in the catus patch - we haul water to the deer.

Wow, that's a lot of water.

Amazing what a river can do. My stand is on a logging road that is only about 2 feet higher in elevation than the feeder. I was real worried that it was going to wash away. Next year I will drag it to high ground after the season is up. Water mark on some trees is about 4 feet above the water you see in the pics.

I've caught fish on trotlines tied to deer stand windows on 8' platforms in the bottom South of Diboll. Amazing how deep it can get in a hurry and be gone in cpl days.

Those woodies are liking that corn. One year, I met a flock of woodies coming to my feeder at the same time I did every morning.

Sweet! How far away did the ducks trigger your camera? I'm a big duck hunter and keep thinking of getting a camera to do some of my scouting for me.

Thanks...
