Got my bow a few months ago just getting good at shooting it and have a place to bow hunt... Let a buddy shoot my bow lastnight showed him everything I turn around to check the grill and he took a shot.. I could tel buy the sound that he drie fired... I turn around and my tube to peep sight broke and my silencers snaped.. Now I have to wait till friday and take it to someone to check it wout and replace some parts.. I wanna just cry lol

I feel bad for you, but one thing for sure, I don't shoot other folks bows and they don't shoot mine.

I have a buddy said he wants to get in Archery, told him my kid has a recurve he can shoot. If he wants to shoot a compound bow, Cabela's and area pro-shops will hook him up.

Man that's a sad story! I just don't understand how anyone even uneducated to archery completely would think its a wise idea to haphazardly dump the wt of the draw in a dry fire. Perhaps This event was an accident, but I've seen it happen for the sake of "I didn't know better". Hope it works out for you alright. How's your buddy taking the title captain of the fail boat? Remorseful?

Never ever let anyone shoot a bow that you have set up for yourself. That is an unwritten rule with my bows....

I made the mistake once...only once...never again. Hope it all gets worked out for you.

Well if everything check out fine; and I'm sure it's okay. At least replace the string now. You have enough time to do that before hunting season starts.

That happened to me a long time ago and I kept shooting the bow only to have the string explode at full draw. Sometimes the string breaks or frays under the serving and it can't be seen.

All bow companys test fires each prototype by dry firing (more than once) to insure that model meets factory requirements before production.

That's why I never let anyone touch a bow unless it has an arrow on it when I give it to them. But I rarely let anyone shoot my bow. Those that have shot it have been bowhunting longer than I have and have way more money than me for such an occasion if they mess something up. Hope your bow is ok bud.

At least you have time to replace/fix anything that was messed up.

Gawd almitey! That brings back a not so funny (at the time) memory. I was just into archery and visiting a Hunters Extravaganza show. Walked into an outfitters display and picked up his bow and went to full draw with fingers. The color just drained out of his face and he was just locked up! Had to be the dumbest thing I have EVER done! Just didn't know any better at the time. Damn lucky I didn't get shot.

i think we all have the same kind of story. my close friend how is an experienced bow guy stops by and pulls my bow and 'accidentally' releases the trigger on the release and says "i dont know what happened?"

never...ever...let anyone pull your bow without you watching that there is an arrow loaded

I know that sucks. Last year me and a buddy went on a 4 day hunt about 6 hours from home and he dry fired my brand new mathews the night before the first hunt. Needless to say he didnt hunt the next morning and i stuck a doe with his bow. Luckily there was a bow shop right down the road who got my bow fixed before that afternoon hunt

Hey, guy, don't be sad! Your buddy is about to buy you a new bow! At gunpoint, maybe, but the end result is the same.

That sucks man!!! If it makes you feel better my bow broke two days before the season last year and it still sits in the closet broke.
