For those of you that hunt out of a ground blind, how many times, have you found residents inside your blind when showing up to hunt in it?
In other words, do snakes like to curl up in there in a corner?

I had a buddy have a snake crawl across his boots one morning in the darkness. Blind was torn apart and deer scattered to the next county. That spot was ruined for a while from the stench, but green as heck the next spring.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

So far just a mouse one morning. I did have a skunk come running up to the door one morning with me inside and could see his nose through the crack.

I've had ringtail cats, mice, rats, birds, lizards, spiders, wasp and a raccoon in stands from time to time and some of those were in tower blinds. Haven't had a snake yet.

3 years ago I had a 18" coral snake crawl up to my pop up but detoured away from me about 2 ft from blind!!! That was one time that I was trying to remember the old line about "red touches yellow will..."!!!

A friend of mine had a black indigo crawl through the blind from one side to the other while he was in there. I had a skunk stick his head inside with me once. Found a coon curled up asleep in my chair once. Seems like scorpions love them. Yep, animals will use them.

I had a copperhead pay me a visit one morning before the sun came up. I shinned a light on him and he crawled on out.

couple years back i went to pick up 4 ground blinds prior to start of gun season and two had rattlebugs underneath. last year i sat a pop up out over a feeder came back three weeks later to hunt it and there were at least 50 red wasps on the ceiling. also had a big boar stick his snout thru while hunting over a wheat field...i get off the ground as much as possible, unfortunately thats not always an option...

I had over 25 scorpions shacking up in mine one fall. They were hiding inside of all the zipper seams, getting ready for cold weather. I still have a hard time using that pop-up.

Plenty of bugs and snakes in the blind, but the one that scared me the worst was the armadillo that had burrowed under my blind. 3 inch nails scratching along their armor makes a loud and scary racket right under your feet at o-dark-thirty.

I had a face to face with a 4ft rat snake last year.....Open the door and........took one GIANT step back. I got him out - Now I always go out early and bug bomb all the blinds about 2 weeks before the season opens.........

Had the wierdest looking hornet fly in mine a couple of years ago. It was big, pink, with yellow spots on it. It flew in just as the sun went down and stung me through my thick jacket. I immediately put a tobacco paste on it but my arm was red and speckled from my fingers to my shoulder. To this day can't figure out what it was and at first no one believed me until one attacked my uncle the next day. This is up in Brady btw.

I had a rattler crawl into a ground blind I made with camo netting while I was bow hunting. He ended up slithering out and I shot him with my bow.

Now I always go out early and bug bomb all the blinds about 2 weeks before the season opens......... That's what I do, but its usually 3-4 weeks before the opener. Had to evict quite a few different critters, ringtails especially but after the bug bombs, I have been fine through the season.

Was hunting from a ground blind with a corrugated tin roof laid over plywood one time.
Slipped in early in the afternoon, sat there for several hours, all was quiet, but then just at dark I hear a bunch of crazy scrabbling around on the roof! I craned my head to look out, and some kind of little bats were roosting in the space between the metal corrugations and the plywood, and were scrabbling out and launching themselves off to hunt!
The next morning, they reversed the act, and flew back and crawled back in the roof at first light... It was pretty wild!
