Some one posted about the weird things found in blinds...

So I thought I would share; this is what happens when you let some JackA$$ hunt your stand and they close all but 1 window.

This huge barn owl set up shop in there and I found this suprise opening morning of muzzle loader in Oklahoma, I opened up all the windows to air it out and bit the bullet till sunrise when the owl returned home and flew in the blind with me.

Those dudes don't mess around. I have had them kick out the windows to get in. Two years in a row

I have a similar story same thing happened about 4 years ago, except the owl set up shop and had babies....by the time I discovered it, there was about 2-3 inches of "mess" with 4-5 babies and a lot of dead mice in the bottom of my stand, it was gross. I checked with the game warden and he stated that I had to wait until they left/flew away (about a month) and then closed up my blind after a through cleaning. The young owls landed and roosted on my blind for a few more days after the windows were all shut. It was horrible and stunk, but we still hunt the blind. The guy that hunted it "claims" to have shut it, guess the owls opened them up, he is no longer on the lease..

Best cover scent you could ask for

This sounds just like my brother-in-law's experience the past 3 years. The owl has broken the windows and laid eggs in his tower stand. They make a real mess. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

That can be a nasty mess. Better to burn the stand sometimes if it is really bad. Heard some bad stories about people inhaling dust from that mess and getting really sick.

Had an owl try to come through the front window before sunrise a couple of years back.

My girly scream was heard no less than half a mile away by my hunting buddies.

"Did someone get murdered slowly a few seconds ago?"

"Me. Owl. Fine now. Probably not seeing anything this a.m."

Put it in the back of a truck and hit the car wash

have not had that problem but we hunt from most of our stands year round for hogs. Probably helps keep em away

Yes sir. New chair, carpet and a bottle of Tilex got it back I shape. Our was a 15 foot tower and I was climbing up one morning before bow season to check for wasps, etc.. And I opened the door and this barn owl nearly knocked me off the ladder. Crap! Inside the blind and........ Elsewhere......

I guess it is better to find out it was a barn owl, rather than a note from Dirty Mike and the boys.

I had a stand that had the roof partially blown off. Buzzards roosted in it. Couldn't be salvaged. Tipped it over and burned it.

I think I would loose it if an owl flew in the blind with me, Those things will eat your eyes out

Davin, do you think its possible that you are the guilty party and just trying to lay blame on someone else. I can see you sipping on your little flask of makers mark and the window just slippng your mind. Its also possible that i was hunting with you and the window that was left open was on my side. If thats the case i did it just to spite you.
