Give it up for Aaron Austin a fellow THF brother, who owns "Animmal Artistry of Texas" taxidermy in keller TX. I just picked up my 188" 6/8" Kansas Monster from him. He did a knock out job!! what a work of art.

Very well done indeed.

I didn't learn this by seeing it on TV, I learned it by doing it.

I got 175 on paper but those tines are probably bigger then what your thinking.

Those red coats are hard to judge on a wall...hell of a deer...hell of deer

High 70's as well like to know measurements to see where the other inches we are missing are coming from.

Hey, if it were my deer, I would have been generous with the measurements! Nothing wrong with rounding up cheers

And, I am not saying that this is the case here, that is a nice buck!

I have him at 185 on paper. Don't think his measurements are that far off...this one scored 189 and some change. Pretty sure I can come up with the official score sheet if you don't believe me grin

I get mid 180's on him with over 85" of tine length. His tine length and beam length is hidden in all the arc or bow in the tines/beams. His 2's, 3's and 4's all will be much longer than they appear. I would say he has 11" or more total on browtines.

Those big bodied Kansas deer will have you scratchin your head trying to score them on the hoof. Whatever he scored he is a stud of a buck and I am only slightly green with envy.

Congrats!!!

The first time I saw KS deer, I was in awe of how big the bodies on them were. I had seen them in pics, but it was different when I actually saw them in person.

You are so right. First Ks deer I ever shot weighed around 225lbs and the locals called it a "small deer"!!!

Maybe if you hunt in the hill country, I am very well aware of body size of a Kansas deer, but that deer is on 24" form and we have plenty of panhandle deer on same size form just doesnt appear to have the mass, so obviously the time length is not showing in the pics.

Great buck and don't doubt it, don't really doubt the other the pics are just not good I guess it looks little thin horned in pics and times must be longer than BOBO and I discussed.

I view it as more of a difference between the average frame size of the horns than actual body size. I would wager that the mb and mass on those Kansas deer are greater, on average, than the panhandle bucks.

What is the average weight of a mature deer in the panhandle, field dressed?
