Part of your collection or part of your 99 collection? Nice either way.

You're obviously a series collector. On a side note, when storing your guns what , if anything, do you wipe them down with to help prevent rust?

Mine get a coating if Corosion-X for storage, and the ones getting hunted with get a coat of the same.

Interested in seeing what others are using

Savage 99's are nice, probably the only savage I would ever own.

Just a rub down with REM oil is what all of mine get stored or used.

Nice. I've got....one 99. It's in .308. I took it back to open sites, great drive-around-the-ranch gun.

thought I would share this..."military rifle" Savage hoped to win a army contract, but did not. this particular one was part of a rack that went to the "MONTREAL HOME GUARD" yr 1914..the bayonets are like hens teeth, I would pay up to $5000. for a nice one.[img]http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n523/texken1/mil-1.jpg[/IMG]I feel very fortunate to have found this one, its a model "D"

when I first get one, I scrub the bore to get out of the old black powder, if I am not going to shoot, I use "rig" in the bore, very lightly, clean the rest of the gun very good, then a very soft cloth with very little oil to store, using cotton gloves to place in storage. I usually do an inspection every 3 or 4 months

I have one my Grandfather gave me in 243. He has killed, by his estimate, over 200 animals with it. That includes a bunch of Mulies, 2 cow elk, and countless Whitetail. Apparently Colorado used to allow 243 as the minimum caliber.
