I usually take my 09 Rhino, but Im selling it this year to finish out a rental property we acquired.
Therefore, Any suggestions would be great as this will be the first time I have left something at the lease. I am leaving a little 93 S-10 Blazer I purchased at the lease during hunting season, etc...
Just curious how you guys deter the mice and coons from getting under the hood and chewing wires, etc... (If this is even possible) lol...
Thanks,

A couple of things that can be done, with limited success are to get a cat (although I hate cats) and try to park it under a cover, but leave the hood open.

I use a plastic cup with an old rag in it and poor diesel in it. I keep my ranger at the ranch during hunting season and this is what i do. I have not had any wires chewed since doing this. I also leave the hood up.

We would leave rat bait around the engine an even leave some one top of the engine with the hood up.
Shhhhhhhh better to be quiet than remove all doubt..

We cut dowl rods to fit each hirider and secure the dowl rod under the hood and bungee cord it,so any high winds dont damage hood. I have a nieghbor that raises cats she saves me all her cat hair from brushing and we put it in a old jersey glove and leave it on the intake.Silly as it might sound it has worked for years. I think the daylight and nightlights seem to be the best deterent. They dont seem to like any type of lighted place for nesting.

Take about 4 or 5 Bounce sheets, twist them in the middle, put a piece of wire around it and put it somewhere in the center of the Rhino. Works like a charm.

When I lived in Germany they said hang toilet cakes under the hood. I can't say whether or not it actually worked. I used some stuff in a spray bottle but not sure I have ever seen it for sale in the States.

Spray some fox urine around the vehicle , maybe on the tires. We sprayed some around our hunting cabin to keep the mice out and we haven't had any since.

Dryer sheets must have some kind of scent mice hate. On my last trip to the lease, some of the critters had chewed stuff in my trailer & left their "sign".
I bought some snap traps and put them next to my sticky traps everywhere I could reach. I also refreshed my dryer sheets since the ones there were old.
This weekend, I expected to find some carcasses in the traps but nothing had been disturbed.
Darn dryer sheets must have kept them away just when I wanted to see some dead bodies.
