Heck ya staffers are badazz! Couple of stickers on a gun, a black hoodie, a discount card and a few store bought bands (64 or 74 whatever it was) and the ducks will follow. Oh and you have to have a beard!

Yup staffers are stuck up ego loaded self promoted Bad A's who pimp products just to feel better about themselves.
That's the popular stigma among the internet. You get points on the boards for bashing staffers and comparing everyone to the poster board D-Bag guys like Belding or Foiles or the 17 yr old kid with his 30 bands and black hoodie. Sure there are a few of those around, key word, few.
The folks no one else brings up that were/are on staff...
Tony Vandemore Fred Zink Charles Petty Bobbie Joe Willie John Stephens Jim Ronquest Kent Cullum Rick Dunn Tyler Merrit Jody Pagan Ward McGee David Sohrt
Just to name a few guys who are currently active.
The list goes on and on of the names you've heard of, even more names of guys you haven't that have had an impact on the sport and conservation for that matter and used promotion of a product or brand to build something, meet people, supplement costs, and spend more time involved in a sport they love.

Hey, behind the marketing, guys are doing cartwheels all the way to the bank and making a living related to their passion. Though I shake my head at the over the top stuff, I can't knock them for that. I also can't knock anyone so ate up with a hobby or sport wanting to be involved though a product or company that they feel has been good to them or their sport. I do think some companies should better screen people. To be noticed I can understand why a company would want "characters" behind thier product. That is expected and I am sure a lot of people use prostaff as a tool for estabilishing business relationships, friendships, and other connections much like many who play golf don't do it to play golf. But say the young guy who has only been hunting 6 months trying to look cool like the guy on TV and get on a prostaff of any company that will take him probably has a different agenda and should be passed over if a company is smart.

I currently represent a few companies, been on a few others over the years.
I've also got a career that pays the bills just fine. I have no desire or grand dreams to start a company in the outdoor industry nor do I plan on carrying out staffing for more than a few years.
I can tell you this, for now, it's fun. You meet people, strike up friendships, find new places to hunt. Get to have input on products that work and those that don't. Get to hear the stories from the guys listed above, and others, from their own mouths and not on some add or internet board. It opens cool doors and saves you some money.
You'll never see me flashing big signs for the companies I am on with, you will see them in the pictures I post and advice I give about products. You hunt with me and you'll see what I believe in. I'll also be at a few shows, shaking hands and giving my opinion on what is stacked on the shelves, nothing more.

One heck of a long boat ride ain't it? Unless you break the rules and walk or launch from the bridge. Game warden started cracking down on that. The only thing I don't like about Ray Bob. Being the only rocks for miles and only visible during drought, I wonder how many outboard props and low ends have been taken out by the deeper ones.

When this guy speaks man I listen....Like said man I'm sorry that you boys have been hurt like you have and Now I'm glad I asked the question, didn't know it would take this turn but maybe it's good it did so if anyone out there is looking to staff you got both sides of it now and all I can say is hold your head up,represent well, shake hands, and lookout for the young guns. Everyone Texan talk about is who I looked up to and also guys like Texan is who I appreciate.

I really have nothing for or against pro-staffers but I wish the companies would treat these "staffers" better. Blaze has prostaffed for The Texas Hunting Forum. If you ask her, she will tell you she was paid quite well. JP gave her half of his sandwich that night.
