I shot local sporting clays team competition this past weekend. I shoot a Beretta 390 that shoots great, feeds any shell I run thru it. We had one with a Bennelli, another with a Browning, then came Danny with his new 12ga Versamax..I have been thinking about buying one due to the features they offer but mainly reduced recoil. We all shot the gun and it was like shooting a 20 ga. It would feed any shell we ran thru it. The Bennelli and Browning both had issues with lower speed shells not feeding so they had to shoot more expensive hotter shells to cycle. The Browning owner left the range, drove to Academy and bought a Versamax. I will be starting a savings account dedicated to that same purpose. Maybe by next year I will have a new gun. The gun handled well and was a pleasure to shoot. happy3

I've never been much of a Remington fan, but every review I've read on this shotgun has been outstanding.

How much are these bad boy's running price wise?

A lot of money to spend when you can buy a brand new Beretta for the same price! Remington has a long way to go before it gets the same track record as a proven auto loader like the 391

I've heard the finish on them flakes off really quick

good luck if you buy one, the reviews are terrible and I believe they have already had a recall or two.

I have thousands of rounds thru my Benelli and no FTF issues. I feed it anything I have. Usually whatever is cheapest.

I bought the versamax tactical for 3 gun. I sold off my SBE 1 to fund it. I was very impressed! I basically is a Benelli with a Remington name. From what I have been, it has the exactly trigger group that the Benelli has. And yes, mine shot cheap loads with no problem and it's a very soft recoiling gun
