Last month at the Jefferson feed store a 50lb sack was $7.45. as of yesterday, $8.95 a sack! Ive shut down all but one feeder, and its now running half time.
At the rate corn prices are going up, i'll be hunting over a can of corn this coming season!

GWBush just drove price up this morning at White House Briefing, Pushing for increasing alternative fuel methods. We hunters should fight to eliminate the idiot who came up with bio- fuel. Or start Planting corn crops on our entire leases!

corn nibblets never looked so good!

when i was a kid, an old timer used to tell me they'd take an old coke tray, and fill up the squares with them, so the deer could eat out of it but the cows could't.

might be worth a try

It works, cows cannot get their tongue in the small hole to get the corn out like a deer can. Problem is the old coke cases will cost a bundle by themselves.

I talked with one of my buddies who's a vendor for Walmart - he said that we could see 50 lb prices go up to $10.50 or so this year. Ridiculous.

On another note, I saw an interesting ad in Texas Trophy Hunters this month for a product called "The Kernel", which apparently brings in bucks with an electric call that mimics a deer feeder.

A product like this used to be sold in Walmart - anyone remember "The Feeder Repeater?"

Anyways, it sounds interesting. Their website is www.thekernelsays.com

Anyone used this product or the Feeder Repeater?
