I've always hunted with fixed blade in past, but decided on Grim Reapers for whitetails this year.
Any recommendations on which of the Grim Reapers:
Razorcut SS vs Razortip vs Whitetail Specials?
1 3/4 vs 2"?
Thx.

I like the razrotip. Don't do 2" unless you have a 70# or more bow as they are a bit harder to get pass throughs with.

I use the hog heads, they were recommended by the guys at allstar archery and they work on deer too.

I have been going back and forth on broadheads all summer and after reading hundreds of posts and reviews I am going with the razorcut SS whitetail specials. I shoot a Hoyt crx @ 70lbs and don't think I will have any issues.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

last year i video'd my buddy double lung a fallow doe at 30 yards with a 70# bowtech destroyer.
grim reaper 100 grain head.
broadhead did not open.
he still killed the deer but he put away the reapers.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I just ordered the RazorTip SS and will be using them this year. I have heard of malfunctions with all different types of mechanicals. If the Reapers don't work, I can switch to something else.

Read up on the Innerloc EXP before you try the reapers

I doubt you can hit a animal with the reapers and they don't open. When you shoot them at a target they snap back shut when the arrow stops. Not calling anyone a liar but i would have to see the animal and the hole for myself.

I agree. Most people don't know that the reapers close after the shot.

I've used Rage 2 blades since they came out and had great success with them on deer and hogs of all sizes. However I have tinkered around with the Grim Reaper razor tips (1 3/8th inch cut) on hogs and really like them...so much so that I'm going to try them out on deer this season. Pig I shot a couple of weeks ago with GR broad head. Very short trailing job.

Ok, next dumb question... Will the Reapers shoot thru mesh of popup blind without opening or interfering with accuracy?

No sir, do not shoot them through mesh or any other mechanical I know of. I hunt out of a ground blind and sit way back in the corner, blacked up and don't seem to have any problem.

In the past 4 seasons, I've have shot nothing but GR 85 gr. Razortips on both deer and hogs. I have always had a pass through and never had an animal run over 50 yards before piling up(Thank the Lord for that.) However, I always wait for a quartering away shot and I don't shoot over 30 yards, ever. It could be luck, but I have never had any issues and would recommend them to anyone.
I have found that diversity adds balance to things. And thats why i shoot a diversity of animals. so i can bring balance to my freezer
