Last year at my DU banquet I not only won a Yeti cooler I also won a Springfield 9mm. First time I've won anything of substance at my event...of course I spend $550 on raffle tickets. With that much spend you kind of make your own luck.

Well this last Saturday there was a sporting clays shoot in Killeen...it was befitting the local Young Life chapter (it's a christian youth organization in case you are not familiar).

It was a 60 target shoot...I only shot 45/60...which was actually a lot better than average but I know I could have and should have shot probably closer to 50 or better...but it was the second time I've shot my shotgun since closing weekend of big duck. That being said I got really lucky because the way they did the prizes the top shot won a shotgun and places 2nd and 3rd some nice gear packages. Then the 75 percentile shooter also won a shotgun...yep...that's me. Then the 50% and even the 25% shooters also won shotguns. Cool way to spread the prizes around so anyone could win.

Anyway it's a nice looking shotgun...an H&K Fabarm...has a ported barrel. I know a lot about shotguns but know nothing about this one. I'll probably sell/trade it. If anyone has a clue to the value let me know...I looked on gun broker and saw one with a reserve for $1150 but it was really the only one on there.

Man, I was gonna say I wanted your luck, but wait, you spent over $500 on raffle tickets? Forget the luck, I just want some of that Marc money.

Yeah if it's totaled up I've paid double for anything I've ever won at DU. But really the fun I have at those events and the chance to win...not to mention money going toward habitat...I'm not too concerned.

You make it sound like I'm mr big bucks Dave...I was just lucky to have the extra money after all my other financial commitments.

How much recoil reduction? I would assume not that much. It also depends on the gun.

Get into a pit with that gun and I bet it's deafening.

Yeah, just giving you a hard time, but you're not going to replace the phrase "Judd money."

Not all guns are loud. Get your NFA gun trust, and your eyes will be opened. Shotguns on the other hand are loud. Ported barrels don't help either.

I am an avid golfer actually.

Yeah everyone hates a guy with a ported barrel. I have a hard time believing they actual reduce recoil in a noticeable way. But the main point is I won a free gun. But yeah it's more of a clay shooting gun.
