I'm looking into putting some better triggers in my AR15's and an ar10 I'm building. I'm between the Jard Timney and Geisselle pretty much in that order. I am really interested what anyone on here is running and how you like it. I am looking at the Jewell triggers, they seem nice but not 100% sure. I'm leaning towards a single stage 2-3 pound trigger. If anyone has any reasons why they think I should get a 2 stage I would love to hear that as well.

Geissellle is the best trigger for an AR. Timney with their modular design are a dirt trap if you don't take the time to keep them cleaned.

Having Timney, Geisselle and Jewell...unless strictly target I'd go Geisselle. I do like my Jewell.

Wilson Combat is my favorite, I have a 3lb singlestage unfortunately they don't offer it as a standard option
I have a Timney 3lb singlstage in my 3 gun rifle and it is very nice, no creep, clean break, no overtravel, instant and positive reset.

JP triggers are awesome, if you are willing and able to hand fit them.

If you're talking about polishing up the hammer and trigger, You can do a trigger job on a single stage parts kit trigger and it will make it much smoother and lighten up the pull as well, but it's still not going to break as crisp as an expensive trigger.

FWIW I have 2 ARs with RRAs 2 stage triggers You can get them for under $100 shipped
My 20" Palmetto State upper 1 in 7 shoots under 1/2 MOA with hand loaded 60gr VMax
2 stages are like satin sheets
You either love em or hate em

One thing missing in some of these recommendations is specifying whether the recommended trigger is single stage or two stage. I just plain don't like two stage triggers and like a single stage like my JP.
for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

The AR's that I'm thinking about putting triggers in are my AR10 that I'm building and an standard ar15 that I'm making a little bit more of a target/varmint rifle. Both are rifles I want to lighten the trigger pull on and make a little more accurate. The trigger and especially barrels are two places I want to really go all out on. I still want to do a 300BO but that's a little more down the road because its going to cost me at least $400 in stamps.

I run a 2 stage Jewell on my comp AR. I love it. I like the 2 stage triggers on an AR best. I like the feel of the take up, and breaking the shot off. Then the trigger rest is very nice for a 2 stage. Honestly, it's personal preference. I heard Jewell's could gum up in an AR and cause issues. But mine runs fine, and I don't clean it much. I'd recommend it.

I have a DPMS LR 308, I know parts do not interchange with the AR 10 platform but I would like to get another trigger for it. Ideas?

Actually a lot of the parts are interchangeable between the two with a few exceptions, the buffer spring and buffer need to be for 308 due to the heavier weight, the handgaurd needs to be for ar10 as well. I believe the charging handle also needs to be for a ar10. There might be a few other small parts like the mag release that will not fit but most small parts are interchangeable between the two. Obviously a ar15 upper wont fit etc. A ar15 trigger will work in an ar10 so long as the springs have enough power to ignite the primer, that is the problem sometimes with a lighter spring kit is it won't always have enough power and you have lighter primer strikes resulting in a FTF.

I have the Timney 3lb trigger and really like it. Never tried the others.

I love my timney 3lb But i have done some really succesful trigger jobs aswell with milspec triggers. With some custom polishing and tweeking of the contacts and some JP springs your sloppy milspec can become a pretty smooth setup!
If anyone is interested in a quality trigger job pm me

I've pulled a SD3G and that thing is sweet. I'd really like to pull a SD-E.

For a two stage Geissele hands down...
For a single stage I prefer the Timney over the Jard.
The JP triggers are really nice if you can fit and fine tune it yourself or know someone who can. One thing to remember with the JP is it only comes with the trigger and multiple trigger springs for the desired pull weight your trying to achieve. It is not a drop in trigger.
Theres not a whole lot of difference in most of the drop in units other than price and the way the safety works.
The main thing you need to decide is if you prefer the single or two stage. You really need to feel them both before deciding. Some swear by a two stage and wont use a single and vise versus. Its all preference.
Something to remember if your thinking of going with one of the National Match two stage triggers is that they aren't always that consistent. They are advertised to break at 4 pounds if I remember right but Ive seen them break as high as 6.75 and as low as 3.75. If your wanting to go match grade stick with one of the companies that are in the business of making triggers...
The trigger jobs I offer are a great low cost improvement from your mil spec and for a lot of people will be all you need. It reduces the pull weight from 6-9 pounds to 4 pounds and will remove the grit in the surface of the hammer and trigger and makes it much smoother and cleaner breaking. That being said it is not a substitute for a match trigger.
