We are pretty cautious with burning at the place, we have had to grass fires, both of which we put out. Brother and I were putting the first out, all we had was shovels, when we were done my jeans were smoking, I had zero hair on my arms, eyebrows and lashes were gone, and every piece of hair that was below my ball cap was gone... lots of fun.
Next one was in camp, a coal popped out of the campfire while cooking biscuits in the dutch oven. Me and a cousin were scrambling to put it out, and dad was watching and laughing his arse off from the outhouse with the door open... untill I yelled, its headed your way you better get out and help!

I love burning cedar. Once,we had a CONTROLLED burn,it got a little uncontrollable. Bluff Dale VFD was called in haste. We got a letter about a month later asking for a donation...Best $200 ever spent.
