I was looking at parts pre planning building an ar10 and I came across this, http://www.jprifles.com/1.4.5_hs.php its a heat sink for the barrel. Makes sense but I wonder how well that would actually work. Thought it was kind of interesting though.

buy a milspec AR barrel, they are designed to run full auto with no heatsink.

Yeah I wasn't planning on buying one, just thought it was an interesting. I don't shoot that rapidly to need one. I prefer to hit something vs spraying ammo aimlessly.
